Biography
Patrizia Attanasio was born in Rome, but she currently lives and works in San Pio delle Camere, a small village near L’Aquila. She is a professional painter who specialized in fresco techniques.
“It is a passion that I have since I was a child, when I used to play between the Mole Adriana and Castel Sant’Angelo, in the Parti district of Rome where I lived with my family. I still remember when my cousins and I organized small sets made with my drawings”
She attended the School of Ornamental Arts in Rome, in the historical venue of Via San Giacomo, where she was rewarded by her teacher who immediately believed in her capabilities.
“I realized later the meaning of that recognition as I was not aware at all of my attitudes, I was still insecure and with no awareness. But that prize wanted me to continue on my way”.
The drawing remains confined to a private dimension, as a moment to share only with herself, even when Patrizia married a decorator, a craft akin to her artistic inclination, when she became a mother of two and when she started working. With a significant artistic and cultural background, always inclined toward research and experimentation, Patrizia decided to move to San Pio delle Camere, into the house she bought to devote herself to art. Since then, she is dedicating herself to art, experimenting with diverse techniques and styles but mainly focusing on frescoes.
It is an ancient art. Italy boasts an exceptional record in that field, with works known all over the world. This art requires great skill and experience. Since the plaster immediately absorbs the color, the painting must be fast and performed without errors.
